Understanding rolls and equipment quality

Two copies of the same item can have different characteristics. Each variable effect is rolled within the range shown on its page. Fixed effects remain identical.

A perfect roll reaches the best values allowed by the item’s quality, including the least severe penalties. A perfect ordinary item remains ordinary.

A +1 AP Gelano keeps its AP: a fixed effect does not become weaker because a roll is described as poor. Set pieces also contribute to set bonuses regardless of their rolls.

Equipment qualities

The loot multiplier mainly increases the number of copies. Natural rolls keep the yield of the ×1 rate; additional ordinary copies use the least favourable 60 % of variable ranges. Fixed effects stay intact. This split accounts for caps: it is not always exactly one half at ×2.

Rare · Purple
A 10 % bonus applied to the rolled value of up to 2 main characteristics.

Epic · Gold
A 20 % bonus applied to the rolled value of up to 2 main characteristics.

Legendary · Red
A 50 % bonus applied to the rolled value of up to 2 main characteristics.

Rare, epic and legendary rolls use the item’s full range, then the bonus is applied to eligible characteristics. Other effects keep their usual range. A poorly rolled epic or legendary item can be less useful than a well-rolled ordinary item. Values are rounded down.

These bonuses affect allowed characteristics such as vitality or strength. They do not automatically multiply AP, MP, range or set bonuses.

Monsters and dungeon bosses can award rare or epic variants. Legendary variants are exclusive to raid bosses, raid completion rewards and world boss chests. Raids and world bosses offer better quality chances than dungeons. Check each page for rates based on the item, source and level. The raid completion reward is separate from monster loot. A perfect ordinary roll remains ordinary.
